Electric bus testing in Zalaegerszeg

An international test programme, in which ZONE Cluster is leading the test phase, is testing an Ikarus pure electric bus. The e-Ultimate programme is part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s (EIT) Urban Mobility initiative, a project covering 5 European cities. It will test locally different charging and operating methods for zero-emission buses and compare them with diesel buses. Passengers in Zalaegerszeg will be able to travel on the ultra-quiet, zero-emission electric 120e bus from the beginning of November for one month.

Within the framework of the programme, ZONE Cluster held a press conference at the ZALAZone test track, which was attended by several high-ranking guests, including Attila Steiner, Minister of State for the Development of the Circular Economy and Energy and Climate Policy of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, László Vigh, Member of Parliament of Zalaegerszeg, and Zoltán Sipos, CEO of Electrobus Europe Zrt.
