The Automotive Sector Consultation Forum is launched
Hungary’s industrial strategy for the period 2024-2030 aims to develop priority sectors and technology-driven domestic industry in line with international trends. To this end, the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) launched the Priority Sectors Consultation Forum, which discusses the current challenges and achievements of the sector and formulates measures based on the objectives of the industrial strategy.

A review of the challenges arising from the transformation of the automotive industry and a discussion of potential solutions took place on 27 September 2024 with the involvement of relevant domestic professional organisations and companies, coordinated by the NGM. The following professional organisations participated in the Automotive Sector Consultation Forum.
In the framework of the forum, the representatives of the participating organisations reviewed the state of competitiveness of the Hungarian automotive industry, with special regard to the complex challenges generated by digitalisation and the tightening climate policy measures. Among the agenda items of the forum, particular emphasis was placed on the skills gaps in the sector and future training needs. The transformation and stability of supply chains was also discussed, as well as the importance of supporting research and development and innovation.
The Forum stressed the importance of cooperation between public authorities and industry to effectively address these challenges. Participants agreed that the successful implementation of the industrial strategy requires dialogue and broad cooperation at sectoral level, which will help to increase the international competitiveness of the domestic industry and to ensure a smooth transformation of the automotive sector.
